Something is better than nothing!
Hi! I’m Annette Gendler, and this is my main motto in writing stories from family history.
If you've read my guide How to Write Compelling Stories from Family History, you already know this: I want you to get something down on paper, even if it's just a list of bullet points and ideas.
To that end, I am offering this one Sunday online session to get together and write about our dads.
I've been doing similar sessions with my siblings. Initially, we gathered to commemorate the 40th anniversary of our father's tragic death. In the meantime, we meet online regularly to continue writing about our dad.
So, with Father's Day coming up, I thought, why not carry this idea out into the world. Share how this works. Provide a space and time for others to write about their dads.
That's where you come in!
Our Dad Write-In Session will include:
- Meet and greet
- Mini lecture and several prompts to get you started
- 45 minutes of actually writing!
- Sharing what you've written, if you so choose
You will come away with:
- Several pages written about your dad
- Ideas and inspiration to continue
- Having met kindred souls
